Chestnut is one of the things I had thought, but I lean against it since the barn was taken down in central Illinois which I think is a bit north of chestnut territory.Jeremyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17028867150859768771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1539341786559704716.post-33687855906766753992013-08-03T09:28:57.867-07:002013-08-03T09:28:57.867-07:00It wouldn't happen to be chestnut, would it? ...It wouldn't happen to be chestnut, would it? It's all pretty mellowed out as far as coloring, I assume that has been assisted by the "fuming" that comes from a livestock barn over time. For sure the very outermost surfaces were much darker.Jeremyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17028867150859768771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1539341786559704716.post-71726741999307549992013-06-18T09:32:15.670-07:002013-06-18T09:32:15.670-07:00A very nice project with a great "morale"...A very nice project with a great "morale". Designing within a set of self inflicted limits force you to use the brain (which is a good thing).
The wood looks like some sort of oak. That should ensure longevity of the finished product.
Brgds
JonasJonas Jensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07787393233185454227noreply@blogger.com
